Promised Land

(Rod Snyder)
I don’t want to spend the next forty years wandering in the wilderness. But this ugly trend causes these fears—causes all this restlessness. I’ve learned how to grieve for each lost belief.

Take me to the promised land. Won’t you take me by the hand. If we steal away tonight, I won’t put up a fight. The road you paved can’t be wrong, and now I know it won’t be long until you take me to the promised land.

This weight in my soul threatens to drown as I cross the Jordan’s waters. But this promise I hold says I’ll reach dryer ground. With you I will go further. This is my resignation, with no hesitation.

Take me to the promised land. Won’t you take me by the hand. If we steal away tonight, I won’t put up a fight. The road you paved can’t be wrong, and now I know it won’t be long until you take me to the promised land.

This is my resignation, with no hesitation.

Take me to the promised land. Won’t you take me by the hand. If we steal away tonight, I won’t put up a fight. The road you paved can’t be wrong, and now I know it won’t be long until you take me to the promised land.
